Uncommon Fruits Worthy of Attention by Lee Reich

Well, I was thinking this would be more of a blog about children's books, but I also have a big love of gardening, and thinking about what I would like to grow one day when we get our own house.

This book I feel like I just have to share! I checked it out at the library on a whim, and now I want pawpaw trees, kiwifruit (of course) and possibly a medlar tree. If we could make it work, persimmons would be fun too. This book definitely has most of the information you would need to get started with any of the fruits he mentions. I think I might need a little more background on grafting techniques and how to take cuttings, etc, but nothing too hard to figure out. I guess that's the main thing to say about it. If you are looking for some advice about growing your own fruit outside of apples, pears and cherries, you should see if your library has this. It is easy to read and has lots of information on each fruit, such as growing conditions, diseases and how to take care of them, uses of the fruit, some history, how to propagate, etc.

Welcome

I wanted to make a little blog to write about the fun books, authors and illustrators, children's and otherwise, that I enjoy! So here goes....
